Product Descriptions

If you want the look of a colorless center stone without the diamond price, white sapphire is the oldest answer in the book — and one of the best. The Aurora sets a 1.4 ct oval of genuine lab-grown white sapphire in a vintage-inspired halo of simulated diamonds, all on solid 925 sterling silver.

Genuine lab-grown sapphire Colorless white oval 1.4 ct center stone Mohs 9 hardness Solid 925 sterling silver September birthstone

White sapphire, honestly described

Sapphire is corundum, and corundum without a trace element to color it comes out colorless. That is all a white sapphire is — the same mineral as a blue sapphire, minus the iron and titanium. This one is genuine lab-grown corundum: grown rather than mined, identical in chemistry, structure, and hardness to a stone taken out of the ground.

What white sapphire is not is a diamond, and no honest listing should imply otherwise. Diamond has more fire — that rainbow flash — and more contrast between light and dark facets. White sapphire has a softer, more liquid, silvery brightness. Plenty of people prefer it. What matters is choosing it on purpose rather than being sold it as something else. Read our complete sapphire guide for the fuller picture.

Built to be worn, not stored

Sapphire has a Mohs hardness of 9, which describes resistance to scratching rather than resistance to every kind of damage. The setting and stone still need care: avoid hard impacts, remove the ring for strenuous work and keep the halo free of buildup.

The oval and the halo

The center oval measures 6.0 x 8.0 mm and is framed by a halo of simulated diamonds, bringing the head to 17.5 x 13.1 mm overall. On a colorless stone the halo does something particularly effective: it multiplies the sparkle so that the whole head reads as one continuous field of light rather than a stone sitting in a mount. The band tapers to an average 2.1 mm, keeping the proportions delicate. Compare it against our halo engagement rings and the wider white sapphire rings collection.

Solid 925 sterling silver with a rhodium finish

The setting is solid 925 sterling silver, finished with rhodium for a bright white luster and an added layer of protection over the silver beneath. That matters more here than on a colored stone: a colorless center picks up whatever the metal around it is doing, so a bright white mount keeps the sapphire reading crisp and cool instead of warm. The interior has a comfort fit, and the setting is described as nickel-free. For background on the metal, read what 925 sterling silver actually means.

A September birthstone that does not look like one

Sapphire is September’s birthstone, but most September jewelry commits to blue. A white sapphire gives you the birthstone connection in a piece that reads as a classic engagement or promise ring rather than an obvious birthday gift — useful if the wearer likes the meaning but not the color. The September birthstone guide covers the full range, and sapphire engagement rings shows what else the stone can do.

Sizing & care

Choose your size from the dropdown above. Our ring sizing guide shows two reliable ways to measure at home, including how to size a surprise without asking.

Colorless stones show dust and skin oils faster than colored ones, so a colorless center benefits from a quick clean more often than most: warm water, a drop of mild dish soap, and a soft toothbrush behind and around the halo, then dry with a soft cloth. Take the ring off before swimming, cleaning, or applying lotion and perfume. Skip ultrasonic cleaners and steamers, and store the ring in its box between wears. Cleaning sterling silver at home has the routine in detail.

Frequently asked questions

Is white sapphire a real sapphire?

Yes. It is corundum, the same mineral as a blue sapphire, simply without the trace elements that create color. This center stone is genuine lab-grown corundum, matching a mined sapphire in chemistry, crystal structure, and hardness.

Does it look like a diamond?

Similar, but not identical, and we would rather say so. Diamond throws more rainbow fire and shows more contrast between bright and dark facets. White sapphire has a softer, silvery brilliance that many people prefer for its subtlety. Side by side, someone who knows stones will tell them apart.

Why choose white sapphire over cubic zirconia?

This design uses lab-grown white sapphire for its colorless center and simulated diamonds for the accents. Sapphire has a Mohs hardness of 9, but hardness alone does not guarantee how a ring will look after years of wear; setting condition, impacts and care also matter.

How large is the center stone?

The oval measures 6.0 x 8.0 mm and weighs approximately 1.4 ct. With the halo the head covers about 17.5 x 13.1 mm, so the ring presents significantly larger on the hand.

What metal is the setting?

Solid 925 sterling silver, finished with rhodium for a bright white luster and added protection over the silver beneath. The setting is described as nickel-free and has a comfort-fit interior.

What are the accent stones?

The halo and shoulders are set with simulated diamonds (CZ). On a colorless center they blend into a single continuous field of sparkle rather than reading as separate stones.

Is it durable enough to wear every day?

The lab-grown sapphire center has a Mohs hardness of 9. Remove the ring for gardening, workouts and cleaning, and avoid impacts that can damage the stone or setting.

Does it need cleaning more often than a colored stone?

A little. Colorless stones show dust and skin oils more visibly, so a quick soapy-water clean every week or two keeps it looking its brightest.

Which month is sapphire the birthstone for?

September. Sapphire is also the traditional gemstone for 5th and 45th wedding anniversaries, in any color including this one.

Can this be used as an engagement ring?

Yes. The colorless center and vintage halo give it a completely traditional engagement look, backed by a hardness that supports daily wear. It also works as a promise ring or an anniversary gift.

Will a wedding band sit against it?

The band averages 2.1 mm and tapers toward the head, so a straight band meets it cleanly at the shoulders. A contoured band will follow the halo curve if you want the two sitting completely flush.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

The setting is described as nickel-free 925 sterling silver with a rhodium finish. Individual sensitivities vary; contact Juelvia before ordering if you have a known metal allergy.

What comes with the order?

A free luxury ring box and shipping options shown at checkout, so the ring arrives gift-ready for a proposal, birthday, or anniversary.
