Choosing an Aquamarine Ring: Stone Labels and Two-Stone Options

A practical guide to reading stone labels, comparing complete Toi et Moi configurations and asking the right questions about fit, materials and ring sets.

A blue center stone is a starting point, not a complete specification. Before choosing an aquamarine ring, identify the stone label, the other stones in the design and the metal of the exact version you want. This matters especially with a two-stone ring: changing one option can change the entire pair.

Natural, lab-created or simulated: read the complete label

  • Natural aquamarine: look for an explicit natural-aquamarine specification for the selected configuration. Do not extend that description to every option on the same product page.
  • Lab-created aquamarine: this is the stated center-stone label for Adeline. It should not be shortened to “natural aquamarine,” or replaced with “simulated” without evidence about that product.
  • Simulated aquamarine: this describes an aquamarine-like appearance, not natural aquamarine. Ellie, Jasmine and Dakota are listed with simulated centers. Their center material should not be assumed to have natural aquamarine’s properties.

Lab-created and simulated are not interchangeable labels. Also distinguish the center from its accents: cubic zirconia, sometimes abbreviated to CZ, is not a natural or lab-grown diamond. If the exact material or supporting documentation matters to your decision, ask about the selected piece before ordering.

Choosing an aquamarine Toi et Moi ring

For a two-stone design, write down both stones and the metal together. On the Toi et Moi ring page, these two configurations illustrate why a blue photograph alone is not enough:

  • Natural Aquamarine + Lab-grown Blue Sapphire / 925 Silver: the pair contains natural aquamarine and lab-grown blue sapphire.
  • Simulated Aquamarine + CZ / 925 Silver: the pair instead contains simulated aquamarine and cubic zirconia. It is not a natural-aquamarine-and-diamond ring.

Both specify 925 silver, but their stone descriptions are different. Other configurations on that page use different stone pairs or metals; a morganite option should not be assumed to contain aquamarine. Choose one complete configuration, then a size offered for it. Do not treat silver, white-gold and platinum versions as freely interchangeable upgrades.

Before deciding, ask for the measurements of both stones and a side view of the selected setting. If you plan to add a wedding band, ask how that band sits beside the two-stone setting. Do not assume a band is included or that one you already own will fit closely.

Would a single center or coordinating set suit you better?

Use the outline and contents to narrow your choice, while keeping the material label attached to each design:

For scale, compare millimeter measurements with a ring you already wear. A center’s dimensions, the band’s width and your finger size describe different things. Use the ring size guide for measuring advice; ask separately about the width of a complete two-ring stack.

A short checklist to send with your enquiry

Open your preferred product and use “Ask a jewelry specialist.” Include the product link and copy these prompts into your message:

  1. My chosen configuration is: ____. Please confirm both the center and accent stones, including any natural, lab-created or simulated labels.
  2. Please confirm the metal and finish, and the measurements for this version. I would like to see its front and side views.
  3. My intended finger and US ring size are: ____. Does this option include one ring or a set? If a set, how are the sizes recorded?
  4. I am considering engraving or another change: ____. Please confirm availability, the displayed fee and any effect on return eligibility before I approve it.
