Why bezel-set a moss agate
A bezel wraps a continuous rim of metal around the girdle of the stone instead of gripping it with prongs. It is the oldest setting method there is, and on moss agate it is the practical choice rather than only an aesthetic one.
Moss agate is 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale — softer than sapphire or diamond, and cut here with points at each end. Points are where a stone is most vulnerable to chipping, and a bezel protects exactly that edge. It also sits lower and snags far less on fabric than a raised prong head, which matters for a ring worn every day.

The kite cut and the floral frame
A kite is an elongated hexagon with pointed ends — the same shape sometimes called a coffin cut. It is a step cut with a broad flat table, so it acts as a window onto the stone’s inclusions rather than breaking light into flashes, which is exactly what you want on a stone valued for its pattern.

Moissanite or natural diamond
Both accent options are genuine gemstones. Moissanite is D color, VVS1, and 9 on the Mohs scale, with a higher refractive index than diamond so it returns more colorful fire. Natural diamond is G/H color, I1 clarity and eye-clean, conflict-free, and 10 on the Mohs scale, giving traditional white brilliance.

Care
The bezel does a lot of protective work here, but moss agate is still softer than the accent stones beside it. Remove the ring for gardening, gym work and household cleaning.
